I'm Robo Kreps, the founder of Just Go Ball, where I aim to spread insightful basketball lessons and express my faith journey. It was through basketball that I discovered my faith in Jesus. Details of my testimony can be found below.

PART 1 Basketball: I grew up with an obsession to make an NBA roster. My entire life revolved around the game of basketball. My father was a high school basketball coach and loved the game as much as I did. This led me to become the classic “gym rat”. The extra work I would put in allowed me to have success during High School and on the AAU circuit. My High School basketball team would go on to win state my senior year and I was voted to the all-state team unanimously. Moreover, I would finish runner-up MVP for the state of Illinois to Derick Rose (NBA MVP 11’). I would then go on to play Division One basketball for the University of Illinois-Chicago. During my time at UIC, I scored 1,594 points and was noticed by an overseas basketball agent. Fast forward to college being over and getting signed by an agency to help me play pro basketball overseas. Though it was not the NBA, I had set myself up for a career of playing pro basketball. My goal of being paid to play the game I love came to fruition! However, after playing pro my first season I quickly realized that something was off. I have said many times that the day I got my dream job was the day I died! I knew in my heart that there was more to playing basketball but I didn’t know what it was. I had a bright future ahead of me yet I didn’t want it. I worked my entire life to get to the position to be paid to play basketball but it left me empty.

Part 2 A Life devoid of God: While growing up, I would say I had everything I wanted. My parents were self-sacrificing. My life from my childhood to college would be considered utopian by some. However, my life was devoid of God and faith. I had never been to church and quite honestly I didn’t want much to do with “church people”. The name of Jesus meant nothing to me.

Part 3 Redeemed: My first stop playing pro was at the age of 23. As you read above, I felt empty and lost after getting the thing I always wanted. This led me to spiral into depression and look for answers. It wasn’t until I came back from overseas that I was invited to church for the first time. I went many Sundays looking for answers until I finally found the one I needed. I heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and accepted Him as my savior. As I approach age 35, there hasn’t been a day passed when I don’t think of Jesus. This is my testimony - Through achieving my childhood dream of playing pro basketball, I was led to the savior of the world.

We give indoor and outdoor basketballs to players who do not have their own (For God so loved the world HE GAVE).

Through motivational talks, we speak to current issues on training, teamwork, and growing as an individual (Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind)

If you live it, you can give it. Since we played at a high level, we can now provide elite-level training (Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it)
